Who we are

Empowering Communities, One Drop at a Time

At Labresonmission.org, our journey is driven by a profound dedication to empowering communities in the Nanumba North district of Ghana, starting with the town of Chamba. Under the compassionate leadership of Fr. Michael Maliwo Labre, we aim to transform lives through essential life-giving resources.

A Personal Message from Our Founder, Fr. Michael Maliwo Labre

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As I pen this message, my heart is filled with gratitude and hope. The journey of Labresonmission.org, born from a deep calling and nurtured by faith, has been a testament to the power of compassion and collective action.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). This scripture has been a guiding beacon for our mission in Chamba. It reminds us that our actions, rooted in love and service, can illuminate the paths of those in need.

Our mission at Labresonmission.org transcends the physical act of providing resources. It is about embodying the love and teachings of Christ, serving as His hands and feet in regions that yearn for hope. In Chamba, where the scarcity of clean water, lack of educational opportunities, and inadequate healthcare facilities challenge the spirit of its people, we see an opportunity to serve, to uplift, and to transform.

I often reflect on the words of James 2:17 – “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” It is this belief that propels our mission forward. We are not just called to sympathize with those in need but to act decisively. The water project, our educational initiatives, and health programs are our acts of faith, bringing tangible change and embodying the love of Christ.

I humbly invite you to join us in this mission. Your support, prayers, and involvement are invaluable. Together, we can bring about transformation in Chamba, touching lives and reflecting the grace and mercy of our Lord.

Our Genesis: A Quest for Clean Water

Rooted in the profound scriptural inspiration, “For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward,” our mission at Labresonmission.org began. This passage not only reflects our spiritual foundation but also embodies our commitment to tangible acts of service and compassion.

Chamba, a rapidly growing town nestled in the heart of the Nanumba North district, is a community vibrant with potential but hindered by a critical challenge: a severe shortage of clean water. This scarcity is more than an inconvenience; it’s a barrier to health, prosperity, and progress. The residents of Chamba, despite their resilience and spirit, have long grappled with the consequences of inadequate water supply, which has led to a prevalence of waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis. These illnesses not only affect individual health but also impede community development, as sick members cannot contribute effectively to societal growth.

Recognizing this dire need, our founder, Fr. Michael Maliwo Labre, was moved to action. Fr. Michael’s vision was clear: to initiate a project that transcends the mere provision of clean water. It was about nurturing a fundamental change, providing a foundation upon which the community of Chamba could build a healthier, more vibrant future.

This project, therefore, is conceived not just as a solution to a physical need but as a beacon of hope and a source of health for the community. By addressing this basic necessity, we aim to unlock the untapped potential of Chamba, empowering its residents to lead lives of dignity and purpose. Our mechanized well and water filtering systems are just the beginning. They represent the first step in our journey towards a future where clean water is a given, and health and prosperity are attainable realities for every member of the community.

Our Mission: A Holistic Approach

Our primary goal is to combat waterborne diseases through a mechanized well and water filtering systems. But our vision extends beyond just providing clean water. We are dedicated to nurturing the overall well-being of Chamba through integrated health and education initiatives.
